Who You'll Work With

You will work in our Boston, Philadelphia, New Jersey, or Washington D.C. office as part of our Legal Department. The Legal Department is a diverse and dynamic team within our firm, with over 280 legal professionals across 43 countries globally. The Legal Department provides comprehensive legal services to our firm's leadership, consultants and support staff throughout the world. The US & Canada Client Arrangements Team (CAT) is currently comprised of over 20 legal professionals in the United States and Canada.

You will report to the Managing Counsel of the CAT who is located in Boston. You will also work closely with other teams within the Legal Department as well as a number of other professionals within McKinsey.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will provide end-to-end legal support for client engagements. You will draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of agreements, such as consulting agreements, confidentiality agreements, third party access agreements, data privacy agreements and various others.

You will also identify and advise internal teams on standard contracting requirements, intellectual property rights, data privacy laws and requirements, confidentiality requirements, other legal and commercial risks, and internal policies, guidelines, and best practices.

You will have the opportunity to work with colleagues on projects supporting broader McKinsey and legal department specific initiatives, such as creating and updating standard form contracts, as well as contribute to knowledge sharing by developing reference materials, trainings, and playbooks.

Qualifications
  • University degree; JD preferred
  • 5+ years of drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts in a professional environment
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
  • Highly autonomous and highly collaborative
  • Confident team player with strong leadership and influencing skills
  • Self-starter with ability to drive tasks and projects to completion
