Controller

Insight Global is seeking a controller to play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of a fast-growing civil engineering firm. This hybrid role is onsite in Santa Ana four days a week. The controller will work closely with the CFO to ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency. Some of the daily tasks include but are not limited to: prepare and analyze profit and loss statements (P&L), develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPI's), credit card reconciliation, manage budgeting and forecast processes, and oversee project accounting to ensure accurate reporting. Some operational tasks that are required for the role include collaborating with various departments to streamline financial operations that support company growth. This candidate will report directly into the CFO and work closely with CEO as well. There will be operational meetings with the CFO and project accountant as well as monthly financial meetings with both the CFO and CEO to provide financial insights to senior management. The ideal candidate is someone who is motivated and driven to grow alongside with the firm. Working directly with leadership and executives to create improvements as well as build out a team in the future.

Required Skills & Experience
- 6+ years of experience as a Sr. Accountant or Controller
- Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting
- Experience in accounting working for a service based company
- Prior experience managing 1-3 direct reports
- Ability to create new SOP's or efficiency in current processes
- Superior communication skills and ability to present accounting related topics/findings in simplistic terms
- Expert knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables, conditional formatting and understanding of Macros

Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience working for a small-midsized company, under 100 headcount
- Proven record of building out an accounting team/organization
- Deltek Ajera software experience
- Experience working within the AEC industry
- Ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities in a growing firm
