Position Summary

Responsible for varied engineering assignments requiring a broad knowledge of engineering specialties and the effect the work has upon other fields. Designs and analyzes electrical equipment for AGVs. Solve engineering problems using a combination of industry standards and company procedures. Perform independent studies, and analyzes, interpret, draw own conclusions, selection and system testing at the factory and onsite.

Duties & Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain automated control systems.
• Program and configure Allen Bradley, PLC, HMI, and Siemens technologies.
• Perform troubleshooting and debugging to identify and resolve technical issues.
• Develop and maintain system documentation.
• Perform system maintenance tasks and upgrades.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful completion of projects.
• Develop detailed design and integration of electrical/electronic systems, sub-systems, and components.
• Conduct and support subsystem and system integration and verification activities, manufacturing and test planning, and failure analysis.
• Support validation and verification activities at component, sub-system, and system test events.
• Conduct Systems Engineering activities including requirements definition and electrical architecture development.
• Research, plan, design, develop, modify, and evaluate electronic and electrical systems.
• Prepare and approve engineering drawings.
• Conduct or lead portions of requirements development, architecture development, interface management, verification, and validation.
• Contribute to internal and external technical reviews.
• Use advanced modeling and analysis tools to develop product specifications, models, simulations, technical data packages, and integration and verification procedures.
• Evaluate vendor capabilities, technologies, services, and ability to deliver required products or services.
• Recommend design approaches for new or improved products and processes.
• Provide engineering consultation to other technical groups.
• Analyze and interpret design specifications, drawings, documentation, models, and/or test results to ensure technical designs comply with applicable engineering standards and product requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field (or relevant combination of education and experience).
• 5+ years of experience working with industrial automation systems.
• Expertise in Allen Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff, PLC, HMI, and other technologies.
• Experience with troubleshooting and debugging of technical electrical issues.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to travel domestically and overseas up to 25-50% of the year.

DETAILED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Electrical - 5 years (required).

o Systems Engineering and manufacturing knowledge.
o Low voltage (28Vdc) and/or high voltage (610Vdc) power distribution and management (Solid State Power Controller/Programmable Power Controller).
o Signal management (Sensor/Transducer Input/Output signal management) including support for diagnostics and prognostics.
o Experience using lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, network analyzers, CANbus analyzers, data acquisition) for test and verification.
o Obsolescence re-design and test support.
o Low voltage and high voltage electronics test planning, execution, and troubleshooting.

• Controls - 5 years (required).

o Rockwell.
o Beckhoff.
o Siemens.
o OPC / Modbus / CIP.
o SCADA.
o Safety PLC (programming and standards).
o Networking Experience (ability to fully set up network and diagnose complex communication issues).

• Software

o Python.
o Rockwell Studio 5000.
o Step 7.
o TIA Portal.
o Open CV (preferred).
o Jetson Platform (preferred).
o Ability to learn new software pertaining to role.

• System Design.

o Must have experience with hardware selection and design.

• Panel design.
• Automated system design.
• Must be able to size and select various components for various automation systems.

o Ability to evaluate performance level of components.

Additional Information

This position is Hybrid - Remote and will require commuting to a designated office. Hybrid work schedules are determined by the hiring manager based on business need.
