What You Will Do:
  • Provides expertise for troubleshooting plant instruments and control loops
  • Specifies, orders and installs new plant instruments as part of projects
  • Configures Hart instruments using a HART communicator
  • Calibrates, installs and maintains all types of electronic instrumentation including pH, conductivity, level, flow, temperature and pressure equipment
  • Run conduit, pull cable, run pneumatic tubing, along with periodically pulling control valves for repair
  • Responsible for Preventative Maintenance, calibration and associated record-keeping of instrumentation
  • Work with Maintenance Mechanics to assist in repairs and during large shutdowns
  • Ensure proper Lock Out Tag Out procedures are being followed prior to beginning work
  • Maintains proper instrument, calibration, PM and work order records
  • Maintains instrument and PLC spare parts inventory and keeps maintenance shop organized and clean


Position Details:
  • Plant location: Clearing, Illinois
  • Work week and shift: Wednesday - Friday 6 AM - 4:30 PM
  • Compensation: $42/hour


Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-5 years of experience in troubleshooting and maintenance of instrumentation/electrical controls in the manufacturing industry or related field plus Instrumentation Technology Certification/Associates Degree
  • No Immigration Sponsorship available for this opportunity


Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to lift/carry 50lbs
  • Must be able to physically perform the essential duties of the position which include lifting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, balancing, walking, standing, talking and hearing
  • Must be able to work from man-lifts, scaffolds, mezzanines, and ladders
  • Must be able to wear a respirator under certain conditions
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and physical exam


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of SAP, eMaint or another maintenance management system
  • Knowledge of calibration management systems
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Previous experience with DCS or PLCs
  • Experience with ISO and PSM procedures
  • Good communication and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a team or independently
