Junior Building Automation Controls Technician

Insight Global's building automation client is looking for a Controls Technician to service clients in the Chicagoland area. The ideal candidate has knowledge of digital controls concepts and help resolve issues at customer sites. This person will be responsible for going to customer sites, address issues or concerns related to the control system, communicate with the customer about the cause and effect, and follow up with a resolution on what repairs were completed. Other responsibilities include:
- Communicate with customers via phone, email, and in person.
- Always practicing safety in the field.
- Reporting on projects and expenses- ordering materials that may be needed for a repair.
- Resolve technical problems related to HVAC systems.
- Program control systems using appropriate system program language.

Required Skills & Experience

Reliable vehicle and drivers license. Will get company vehicle once converted to FTE.
HS diploma/ GED.
Understanding of low voltage building automation control systems.
At least 6 months experience troubleshooting, commissioning, and basic preventative maintenance in controls.
Experience programming modifications and graphs.
Computer literate with advanced TCP/IP networking skills.
Familiar with network or IT programming for building systems (security, fire, or HVAC).

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

A+ certification.
Tridium programming experience.
Experience with/programming Metasys (JCI software)
Bachelors, Associates or 2-year technical school program (*electrical engineering).
