Next Door at Astor Place is a true culinary adventure located at the Wegmans store in the East Village. Led by chef Oliver Lange and our exceptional team, you will help deliver delicious contemporary Japanese cuisine which draws inspiration from around the world.

The art deco inspired space, in a nod to the historic origin of the building, will be both welcoming and comfortable. Guests will enjoy a wonderfully immersive and entertaining experience from any seat in the house and personalized, next-level hospitality. We'll be opening our doors in early 2025! In our Wegmans specialty concept restaurants, our mission is to provide a one-of-a-kind dining experience for our guests. As a critical part of this mission, your job as a Line Cook is to create menu items and ensure guests are presented with a meal they can't receive elsewhere. In this position, you will use a passion for preparing food to develop the skills and talents needed to succeed in a restaurant setting.

What will I do?

• Work to ensure incredible service is provided to guests by effectively handling a variety of tasks including consistently preparing ingredients to be used by the culinary team as well as creating high quality meals
• Follow proper recipes, knife skills and cooking techniques when prepping ingredients and preparing a variety of menu items to produce a consistent outcome
• Effectively multitask and balance prep work while ensuring guests meals are prepared in a timely manner with the highest standards of quality maintained

Required Qualifications

• Experience working as a Line Cook

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Culinary Arts
• Experience working on multiple kitchen stations
