Description

Dallas ISD Alternative Certification Curriculum Coordinator will be responsible for successful design,

development and evaluation of appropriate curriculum aligned to Texas Administrative Code for educator preparation programs. The Curriculum Coordinator will analyze, prepare, determine, and supervise the development of training content based on Texas Administration Code for educator preparation programs, research, and individual state standards. Dallas Alternative Certification- Curriculum Coordinator will report to the Manager within the alternative certification program.

  • Ensure that assigned curriculum, instruction, assessment, and staff development conform to federal, state, and district guidelines per TAC Code 228.
  • Actively review and implement all requirements aligned with 19 TAC Chapter 228. Requirements for Educator Preparation Programs.
  • Develop individualized scope & sequences that align to designated certification pathways.
  • Work with administrative staff to develop, coordinate, and deliver professional growth activities in content and program areas.
  • Prepare and maintain 100% accurate records of candidates' course training hour.
  • Collaborate with district level, regional representatives, and state compliance officers to evaluate and provide program improvements.
  • Craft curriculum presentations, surveys, and vetting documents to analyze curriculum effectiveness.
  • Assist alternative certification teachers in obtaining instructional materials for curriculum development and implementation if/or when needed.
  • Builds, implements, and improves efficient systems and processes for training and supporting highly effective alternative certification teacher candidates.
  • Collects and analyzes alternative certification teacher performance data to identify trends, address issues, and adjust training and support to ensure highly effective teacher candidates.


All federally funded incumbents of this position must comply with time and effort reporting requirements through personnel activity reports or periodic certification, as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in a directly related field; Master's degree from an accredited university preferred.
  • Valid Texas Teacher Certificate.
  • 5 plus years of teaching experience preferably in an urban setting and demonstrated success in the classroom.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, including keep attention to detail and the ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Ability to proactively identify challenges and work to find solution.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to adjust course as needed by Human Capital Management, Alternative Certification.
  • Ability to self-monitor daily, weekly, monthly performance.
  • Ability to perform and deliver fast, focused, friendly, and flexible customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
