Summary
Lidl US is searching for the next Cost Management Specialist to join our team! This role plays an important part in analyzing costs, identifying optimization opportunities, and supporting data-driven decision making across the organization. The main goal is to support departments with their cost analysis process to increase transparency and strengthen cost awareness which will lead to cost efficiency in all parts of the organization.
** This role reports to our Headquarters in Arlington, VA on a hybrid 3-day schedule.
What You'll Do
• Oversees and manages assigned project and/or departments data, ensuring it meets predetermined contractual or policy requirements
• Conduct data entry and data management for various department projects
• Assist with the development of training materials such as manuals, handbooks, presentations, diagrams, workflows, and project plans
• Analyze and interpret financial data to identify cost drivers and trends
• Develop and maintain cost management tools to track and analyze key cost drivers
• Support with the development and implementation of cost management strategies to optimize spending and improve profitability
• Support departments in developing business cases by providing ROI calculations and simple payback period analyses
• Prepare and analyze regular cost reports, budgets, and forecasts
• Monitor project expenses and budgets and identify potential cost overruns
• Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to develop and implement cost control measures
• Provide training and support to other departments on cost management principles
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cost-effectiveness in all aspects of the business
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential, including advanced formulas, data visualization tools, and reporting functionalities

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and methodologies
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Maintain high levels of integrity and discretion
• Perform other duties as assigned
Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience
• Bachelor's degree in project management, economics, finance, accounting, or a related field
• 1-3 years of experience in a related field
• In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience in related field will meet the education and related experience requirements listed above
