A Patient Care Technician who, under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, participates in the delivery of patient care with the critical care environment. This position includes, but is not limited to the following essential functions:
  • Functions within the established policies and procedures of the Nursing Department of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
  • Exhibits responsibility through collaboration with RN for efficient, cost effective use of time and equipment.
  • Provides care to designed patients and prioritizes based on patient's care requirements as delegated by the RN.
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the Hospital.


Qualifications


    Education & Minimum Certifications, Registration or License Requirements:
    • HS Diploma or equivalent required.
    • Successful completion of a state approved Emergency Medical Technician Training Program.
    • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification required.
    • BLS certification through the American Heart Association required.

    Experience Requirements:
    • Minimum 1 Year in Emergency Room or Minimum 1 Year in Critical Care.
    • Or related area preferred.


    Conditions of Employment
