Customer Service Representative - Remote in Everett, WA

This position is full time, Tuesday - Saturday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules between our normal business hours of 9:00am - 6:00pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. Our office is located at 7600 EVERGREEN WAY Everett, WA.

We offer 4 - 5 weeks of on-the-job training. The hours during training will be 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday - Friday (first 2 weeks) and the rest of the training will be Tuesday - Saturday. Training will be conducted onsite.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Answer incoming phone calls from health care providers (i.e. physician offices, clinics) and identify the type of assistance the provider needs (EG. benefit and eligibility, billing and payments, authorizations for treatment, explanation of benefits)
• Focus on resolving issues on the first call, navigating through complex computer systems to identify the status of the issue and provide appropriate response to caller
• Deliver information and answer questions in a positive manner to facilitate strong relationships with providers and their staff
• Complete the documentation necessary to track provider issues and facilitate the reporting of overall trends

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma / GED
• Familiarity with computer and Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system applications
• Must be able to work onsite if having internet issues
• Must be 18 years of age OR older
• Ability to work full-time, Tuesday - Saturday between 9:00am - 6:00pm including the flexibility to work occasional overtime given the business need

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1+ year of experience in a related environment (i.e. office, administrative, clerical, customer service, etc.) using phones and computers as the primary job tools
• Prior health care experience

Telecommuting Requirements:

• Reside within 30 miles radius to 7600 Evergreen Way Everett, WA
• Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
• Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
• Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.

Soft Skills:

• Demonstrated ability to listen skillfully, collect relevant information, build rapport and respond to customers in a compassionate manner
• Skilled in problem solving to quickly assess current state and formulate recommendations

Washington Residents Only: The hourly range for this is $16.00 - $28.27 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
