• Eligible candidates must hold or be eligible for a VDOE Technical Professional teaching License in one of the following endorsements: Computer Science, Computer Science Specialist, Networking, Business and Information Technology, Electronics Technology, Computer Repair Technology or Computer Systems Technology.

This vacancy is for the 2023-24 school year with an July 17, 2023, start date. Annual compensation amount to be prorated to official start date.
- Ensure that daily Instruction and learning is aligned with VDOE standards/competencies.
- The successful candidate will be required to instruct students in Cybersecurity Systems Technology and prepare them for the Security+ Certification.

Professional Duties and Expectations:
- Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs of students
- Secures and prepares instructional materials in advance and shows written evidence of preparation
- Assists in the evaluation, selection, and requisition of books, equipment, audio-visuals, and other supplementary materials
- Implements all curriculum programs adopted system-wide in a positive and efficient manner
- Participates in curriculum development appropriate to assignment
- Establishes clear objectives for all learning experiences and communicates these objectives to students
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with students
- Makes use of a variety of resources, materials, and methods to improve the effectiveness of instruction
- Evaluates pupil accomplishments on a regular basis and provides timely feedback to students/families
- Develop business and industry partnerships that support program goals
- Sponsor an active student organization, Skills USA, and support student participate in competitions
- Confers with colleagues, students, and or parents on a regular basis
- Takes all necessary precautions to protect and to maintain facilities, equipment, and materials
- Emphasizes and enforces safety factors within the classroom, building, and throughout school property
- As an extension of classroom management responsibilities supervises students throughout the school as assigned, or as circumstances require
- Maintains a disciplined atmosphere appropriate to the teaching environment
- Establishes reasonable classroom rules with consistent enforcement occurring in a positive way

- Developing a basic network design and connectivity
- Configuring a network architecture
- Documenting a networks design and configuration
- Determining network limitations and weaknesses
- Implementing network security, standards, and protocols
- Applying industry standards, practices, and network theory in relationship to cybersecurity
- A+ (CompTIA)
- Network+ (CompTIA)
- CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
- SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner)
- CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker)
- SCNP (Security Certified Network Professional)
- CASP (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner)
