Position Summary:

American Roller Bearing is currently seeking Cylindrical Roll Grinder for its facility located in Hiddenite, NC working mid-night shift (1030p to 630a). A successful assembler values safety, quality, productivity, and customer service.

Primary Functions:

Set-up and operate twin grip roll grinding machines, roll crowning machines, and double disc grinders.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Set-up and operate twin grip roll grinding machines, roll crowning machines, and double disc grinders per instructions and procedures.
  • Locate jobs/materials in inventory and fill out proper inventory paperwork.
  • Remove stock from rollers as specified on print, oil finished product, place on proper/ designated pallet on floor.
  • May use a fork truck or hand truck to move material to and from machine area.
  • Monitors pre-process material conformance.
  • Responsible for quality of product produced, machine set-up and tooling, and advises supervisor of any quality problems.
  • Responsible for completing production cards, inventory tickets, and other data and/or paperwork as required.
  • Performs routine preventative maintenance and cleaning on machines.
  • Provides training for new employees in roll grinding area.
  • Performs duties in a safe manner in accordance with Company safety policies.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED
Experience
  • 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment and CDL driving experience.
Skills
  • Must having working command of the English language and be able to communicate orally and in writing (basic oral instructions, simple written memos, and instructions).
  • Must be able to read and interpret shop drawings, follow routers, use simple math to perform basic calculations (plus decimals and fractions), and use basic handheld measuring tools.
  • Basic knowledge of machining procedures.
  • Good mechanical aptitude, and troubleshooting skills is a plus.
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Have a good knowledge and understanding of Company policies.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to frequently lift/push/pull objects that are up to 25 pounds. The use of a hoist is required for heavier weight over 25 pounds.

All associates are required to wear protective eyewear, hearing protection, and slip resistant, steel-toed shoes at all times while on the plant floor.
