Responsibilities:

Syntelligent is seeking a Data Scientist with TS/SCI clearance to join our team and help accelerate a federal mission client's discovery and delivery of identity and network-based intelligence insights to counter national security threats and malicious actors in Washington, DC.

As a Data Scientist, you will be involved in full spectrum analytic technical support to mission operations and the intelligence lifecycle: requirements collection and refinement, translating user requirements into technical requirements, environment configuration, exploratory data analysis, model development, selection, and evaluation, identifying insights from analytic products and then communicating those results to a nontechnical audience. To that end, you will work with cross-functional teams to identify relevant and permissible data sources, access available infrastructure, and to develop analytic products tailored to mission user requirements. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are critical in your ability to collaborate with your technical colleagues and building rapport with the customer. Your analytic products should clearly and succinctly distill trends, illuminate latent patterns, and spotlight insights in an easy-to-consume manner for customers to take action on.

Duties will include:

  • Participate in architectural design discussions
  • Help make decisions on changes cloud infrastructure as needed to accommodate changing user requirements
  • Consider cost trade-offs of various cloud environment configurations and contribute to budget discussions

Qualifications:

Required:

  • TS-SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in computer science, data science, data analytics
  • Experience executing data science methods using python libraries for Data Cleaning/Wrangling, Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA), Statistical Analysis, Data Visualization
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python
  • Agile development experience along with related technologies (e.g., Jira)
  • Required professional and vendor certifications: AWS Certified Developer Associate
  • Skills: Data Analytics, Data Visualization, Jupyter Notebooks, Data Science Python and R Studio, GitLab Analytical Approach

Preferred:

  • Understanding of version control, testing, and debugging.
  • Familiarity and experience with the Intelligence Community (IC), and the intel cycle.
  • Familiarity and experience with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
  • Strong communications skills with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to various stakeholders and audiences
  • Master's degree or equivalent experience in a related field

The salary ranges for these positions will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
