The Ohio Attorney General's Office is currently seeking an exceptional, experienced candidate for the a Database Administrator (Infrastructure Specialist 3) position within our Information Technology Services Section which primarily leverages Microsoft technologies and tools.

The successful candidate will perform the following duties, which include but are not limited to:

• Provide Tier II & Tier III database support, e.g., diagnose, analyze & resolve issues for customer(s).

• Work with architecture, application development, & operations to help achieve a highly available database environment that meets current & future business objectives.

• Develop, test, debug, document, & implement moderately complex hardware/software components, tools, & utilities

including databases, middleware & personal computer systems.

• Independently install, maintain, configure, upgrade, and administer hardware and software for various data management systems, including business intelligence, database engines, data transformation, and data warehouses.

• Foster transparency and knowledge sharing through documentation of database schemas, processes, and procedures.

• Analyze and tune SQL queries, manage database indexes, and monitor overall server health and database performance which may involve use of third-party tools.

• Participate in backup, clustering, mirroring, replication, disaster recovery & failover activities.

• Implement and enforce database security measures, ensuring data protection and compliance with applicable regulations such as CJIS and FTI (IRS 1075).

• Leverage ETL tools to extract, transform, and load data to support data migrations and application interfaces.

• Develop efficient SQL scripts, stored procedures, SSIS packages, and functions as needed to support projects, ad-hoc requests and ongoing business operations.

• Assist developers with extracting data and creating reports.

Qualifications

Completion of undergraduate core program or associate degree in computer science, information systems, mathematics, or related field, or equivalent work experience, and minimum 6 yrs. combined work experience in network, database, server, or storage administration.

-Or 2 years of experience as an Infrastructure Specialist 2;

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
