Under the general supervision of the Information Technology Supervisor II (State Special Schools Support Office, North Unit) in the Technology Services Division (TSD), the incumbent will provide information technology (IT) support for the Diagnostic Center North (DCN) local area network, servers, workstations, printers, softwares and Diagnostic Center Assessment Systems (database) . The incumbent will take a leadership role in the planning process, implementation, maintenance, monitoring, and management of complex services that reside within the DCN infrastructure. The incumbent may be assigned to IT projects for other State Specials Schools locations. The incumbent's primary area of focus will be within the domain Client Services and database management. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

Working Conditions
This position requires long periods of time sitting in front of a computer workstation; repetitive use of hands, forearms, and fingers to operate computers, mouse, dual computer monitors, printers, and copiers. Work in a climate-controlled office under artificial lighting. Must be able to move/transport physical hardware weighing up to 60lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation. Core Business hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. May required to work after hours and over the weekend to for scheduled maintenance or repairs. Travel to attend meetings and training may be required.

Department Information The Diagnostic Center, Northern California (DCN) services are provided by expert, transdisciplinary teams of diagnostic professionals, including educational specialists, speech/language specialists, school psychologists, clinical psychologists, and a pediatrician who address the unique educational needs of Northern California's students with complex learning and behavioral challenges enrolled in special education programs.
The DCN operates from a "whole child" perspective focusing on the needs of the students we serve. The DCN is one of three regional assessment centers operated by the State Special Schools and Services Division of the California Department of Education. The Centers provide assessment, training, and technical assistance to all Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) in California. The DCN offers highly specialized services in the following areas:
