Physical Activity of this position
Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles etc., using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Agility is emphasized. Important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion., Maintaining equilibrium to prevent falling. Walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces. Amount of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium. , Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full motion of the lower extremities and back muscles. , Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees., Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine. , Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet. , Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction., Standing. Visual Acuity Requirements including color, depth perception and field of vision.
Required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading., Required to have close visual acuity to inspect small defects, small parts at distances close to the eye., Required to have visual acuity to perform activities such as: operating machines, (i.e. lathes, drill presses, power saws) where the job is at or within arm's reach; skilled trades tasks of a non-repetitive nature, such as carpenter, plumber, mechanic. , Required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned (i.e., custodial, food services,) or to make general observations of facilities or structures (i.e., security guard, inspection).
The conditions the worker will be subject to in this position.
The worker is subject to vibration. Exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body.

Job Summary/Basic Function
- Will offer dental screenings, dental radiographs, dental cleanings, periodontal therapy, fluoride treatments, dental sealants, oral health education, therapeutic services and continual maintenance and evaluation of patients' oral health.
- Utilize assessment skills to review health, personal and medical histories, assess risk,
- Implement treatment, re-evaluate outcomes of treatment and re-treat if indicated.
- Assess the oral health of patients using skills learned in the Dental Hygiene Program.
- Teach dental hygiene concepts at local schools, non-profit organizations and community functions.
- Referrals to specialists when indicated
- Acting as a mentor or tutor to fellow students if as a member I have completed my first year of the program
Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Current WSU Student.
- Enrolled for 6+ credits for summer semester and 12+ credits for fall and spring semesters.
- Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
