Job Summary:
Under the supervision of a licensed dentist assesses patient needs, prevents the spread of oral disease, plans and delivers dental care designed to preserve teeth and oral health. Provides oral health education utilizing established dental hygiene protocols and procedures.

This position is involved in a team-based approach to care. Team members are trained to meet the highest level of function for their role as per the State of Tennessee/Georgia guidelines. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to coordinate care for patients and is trained and assigned to support patients/families/caregivers in self-management, self-efficacy and behavior change. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to manage the practices patient population. Participates in the practice's quality improvement process and performance evaluation.

Graduate of a state of Tennessee accredited dental hygiene program.

Department Position Summary:
A dental hygienist will work under the supervision of a licensed dentist. He/she will be responsible for preparing operatory for patient care in compliance with all OSHA requirements. Assesses patient needs, dental condition, develop and implement dental care plan. Must be able to obtain and develop x-rays, make intra-oral impressions. He/she must be willing to assist in office management activities and other miscellaneous related duties.
