The Department Assistant - Research & Development (R&D) provides vital administrative support to ensure smooth operations across the Scripps Health research division. Collaborates closely with research leadership to perform administrative duties involving departmental communication and data entry, document creation and standardization, and e-record and drive maintenance. Provides important logistical support to individual research projects in the areas of cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, pregnancy, and diabetes, and under the direction of project managers and division leadership. Has knowledge of the research division's operations, organization and procedures appropriate to scope of work. Maintains research files and records and receives/tracks project supplies and deliveries in accordance with internal procedures. Responds to routine requests for information from division staff and refers more complex requests to appropriate team members or leadership. Contributes to process improvement and other activities to promote the objectives and performance of research at Scripps Health.

This is a non-benefited Casual/Per Diem position, located at the Scripps Corporate Office in La Jolla.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Basic computer skills, including MS Office.
  • Adaptable and able to handle large volumes of work.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Work experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Release of Information experience.
