Work You'll Do:

The Deputy Program Director is responsible for the overall leadership of Contractor Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) activities. This role involves direct collaboration with the PMO manager to manage the tactical activities of the Program, including finance, procurement, budget, HR, and payroll activities, as well as the activities of the PMO staff. The Deputy Program Director plays a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of the program's core projects and maintaining an integrated program schedule.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work directly with the PMO manager to manage the tactical activities of the Program.
  • Oversee the activities of the finance, procurement, budget, HR, and payroll teams.
  • Manage the activities of the EPMO staff in support of the program.
  • Ensure core projects have an assigned and effective project manager.
  • Direct core project and EPMO staff to achieve program goals.
  • Accountable for the execution of tactical activities for the five core projects.
  • Maintain an integrated program schedule and provide regular reports.
  • Monitor, track, and report progress against scope, schedule, and budget baselines.
  • Identify and monitor the Critical Path to provide high-level insight into the project's timeline and task correlations.
  • Identify, analyze, prioritize, and manage issues and risks.
  • Document and log decisions to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Ensure EPMO processes (scope, schedule, resource quality, etc.) are defined and followed.
  • Manage and report on Contractor contracts and Deliverables.

The Emerging ERP Solutions practice helps implement cloud-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications such as Workday Financials and Infor. Teams support finance and supply-chain transformations where the software is a true enabler of process change and cost reduction.

Qualifications:

Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in project management, particularly with state government clients.
  • Experience in managing tactical activities across multiple domains such as finance, procurement, budget, HR, and payroll.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Preferred:
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP or equivalent).
  • Workday EM/PM Certification.
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $167,000 - $223,000.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
