Job Description:

Project/Task Manager

In close collaboration with Senior Project Manager, the successful candidate will provide support in managing the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) CBCM P&M Services contract. The candidate will have deep knowledge of task management with an emphasis on managed service functional delivery to improve Veteran communications. The Deputy Project Manager will work closely with Senior Project Manager and VBA stakeholders to produce definitive outcomes that support the distribution of Veteran communications. This position requires knowledge of the project management support Veterans receive from the Department of Veteran Affairs. This candidate will primarily support Senior Project Manager in overseeing the program aspects related to funding, financial management, subcontracting, quality management, and client communications.

Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Participate in the development of technical project plans, proposals, reports, schedules and task order and administrative reporting
  • Work closely with Senior Project Manager to capture and report on quantity-based funding and performance metrics used to track core project functions for status reporting
  • Attend customer meetings and serve as client liaison
  • As a PMO team member, support action item management and definition and mitigation of program risks
  • As a PMO team member, document VA requests via Action Items and develop materials to respond to these requests
  • Utilize professional judgement, critical thinking skills and research to improve program processes and resolve issues affecting program performance
  • As a PMO team member, prepare ad hoc presentations and reports and present them to VA stakeholders
  • As a PMO team member, support the development, review, serialization, and distribution of formal deliverables and various informal deliverables, as required
  • Attend daily Team discussions hosted by Government; document key takeaways and actions
  • Support the development and presentation of internal and external Program Management Review briefs
  • Utilize professional judgement, critical thinking skills and research to improve program processes and resolve issues affecting program performance
  • Function as co-owner and co-administrator for program SharePoint site, building site, organizing content, and tools to maximize usefulness and convenience for users
Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree in economics or business related field with at least 5+ years of experience, or 9+ years of experience without a Bachelor's Degree
  • Must have 2+ years of progressive experience defining, implementing and managing project processes
  • Must have 2+ years of task order management
  • Must have 1+ years of experience managing contracts or task orders
  • Good team player, able to manage multiple assignments, and adapt to changing client needs
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to business leaders
  • Must be able to obtain a Position of Trust and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting

The likely salary range for this position is $92,331 - $106,950. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
