Senior DevOps Engineer

Overview

The Permanente Medical Group is currently looking for a senior DevOps Engineer to be part of our high performance agile development team.
The ideal candidate started out as a developer, will have a minimum of 5 years development experience, has been exposed to a multitude of technologies and
eventually found his/her true passion in DevOps automation.

Responsibilities

- Develop, test and maintain build and deployment scripts in CI/CD framework/tools to automate and streamline deployment processes.
- Drive the DevOps team toward automation and deployment best practices.
- Partner with the software architect and development teams in designing DevOps processes that help achieve team goals.
- Produce and maintain documentation on installations, procedures, and requirements for systems.
- Monitor applications
- Research, suggest and implement new technologies, strategies and ways to solve technical issues.

Jenkins, Git, Docker, Docker Compose, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, Nexus, Artifactory, Ansible

Skills

- Manage Linux based systems
- Code and configure CI/CD
- Manage source control systems
- Firm grasp of internet, cloud and network security concepts
- Containerization and orchestration
- Infrastructure as code
- Understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture

Required Skills : - Docker Experience is Key, with Kubernetes - Must be from an On-Prem background, NOT looking for candidates from Cloud heavy projects - Jenkins for automating and creating build scripts - Experience - leaning on the development side - Any OOP languages will do. Ideally Angular/Node, but Java would do. - Microservices is very important - Strong Scripting Experience
