METROPOLITAN STATE HOSPITAL- Located in Norwalk, Los Angeles County
The Department of Dietetics has a full-time, permanent vacancy an Dietetics Assistant Director. The position manages and directs the operation of the Nutrition Services Production area and Warehouse. Ensures daily menu production is completed and HACCP is followed. Ensures all POCs, HACCP, CMS, Title 22, JCAHO and local food service laws and regulations are followed and maintained. Provides monthly departmental training for supervisors and staff. Monitors all areas of Production: kettles, blast chillers, grills, steamers, cold preparation, large standing mixers, HCM, meat shop area, meat grinder, walk-in refrigerator, freezer and dry storage. Assess equipment needs annually, supports and directs SC II/I positions, monitors OT, ensures equipment is functioning properly. Attends departmental and required administrative meetings and participates in various committees.
Minimum Qualifications:
Pattern I: One year of experience performing the duties of a Clinical Dietitian in the California state service.
OR
Pattern II: Experience: Two years of clinical or administrative experience in dietetic practice, and registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. (Applicants who are eligible to apply for registration will be admitted to the examination but must become registered to be eligible for appointment.)
AND Education: Equivalent to graduation from college with a major in dietetics or institutional management from a coordinated undergraduate dietetic program or a formalized post baccalaureate education program approved by the American Dietetic Association.
