Job Description

Job Responsibilities:
- Provides direct nutrition support to patients in the NICU.
- Assesses patients' nutrition status and develop/implement appropriate treatment plans, nutrition interventions and implement medical nutrition therapy.
- Reassesses patients' for changes in nutritional needs, document nutrition plan of care and monitor progress of nutrition patient.
- Interprets pertinent clinical data in the EMR as it relates to nutrition care.
- Integrates evidence-based guidelines into clinical practice.
- Documents in EMR in the Assessment, Diagnosis, Intervention, Monitor and Evaluation format (ADIME)/
- Works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to provide recommendations on appropriate nutrition support.
- Participates in interdisciplinary rounds and neonatal team meetings.
- Provide education on the preparation of specialized infant formula in preparation for discharge.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or designee.

Responsibilities

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with a major/concentration in Nutrition or Dietetics. Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration and participates annually in continuing nutrition education.

Certification/Specialization in one of the following:
- CSPCC, Certification as a Specialist in Pediatric Critical Care Nutrition
- CSP, Certified Specialist in Pediatrics
- CNSC, Certified Nurition Support Clinician
