Duties

This position is located in the Environmental Protection Agency, Office of the Inspector General, and this position serves as the Director of Operations in the Office of Audit (OA).

Responsibilities

Major duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Informs and communicates to the AIGA in managing OA mission and mission-support operations to include the areas of audit planning, organizational risk assessment and management, policy and procedure management, human capital, and budget.
  • Prepares, maintains, monitors, and controls internal and external correspondence including, but not limited to, executive correspondence, such as letters and memorandums, as well as requests for information from the Congress, Office of Management and Budget (OMB), Government Accountability Office (GAO), Council of Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE), Agency officials, OIG senior leadership, and other sources.
  • Plans, coordinates, conducts, and executes special events, meetings, and other high priority assignments in connection with matters of special interest to the OA.
  • Prepare materials by reviewing, analyzing, and synthesizing information, to include critical and/or sensitive information.
  • Maintains internal databases to track, among other things, audit project metrics, awards processing, and other efforts related to OA's management of its audit portfolio and mission support activities as designated by the AIGA and/or DAIGA.

Qualifications

Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service.

GS-15: To qualify at the GS-15 level you must possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:

  • Applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations.
  • Managing special projects by planning and preparing analysis with the use of charts, diagrams, slides and other visual material for use in the communication of information.
  • Collecting relevant information from varied sources to devise new techniques to evaluate findings and make authoritative recommendations.
  • Manage data and other information to support program objectives.
  • Advising leadership in the areas of audit planning, risk assessment, policy and procedures, human capital, and budget.
