Job Summary

Reporting to the Executive Director of Operations and Innovations, the Director of Budget & Finance will be responsible for supporting the Revenue Cycle Management by generating financial and statistical reports used for revenue cycle decision support, assist with preparing and monitoring of departmental budgets and metrics, complete ad hoc reports and special projects as needed. The centralized Revenue Cycle Management function provides various services to six hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, School of Medicine and other affiliate entities.

Critical to this position, the incumbent would be responsible for working independently to understand and define problems, compile and analyze data, recommend alternative solutions and report findings to various levels of management. The incumbent responsibilities include, but not limited to: report writing, data manipulation, budget file development, patient accounts receivable reserving etc. Incumbent will focus on compiling various internal and external financial reports using programs such as SQL server, EPIC hyperspace, Epic Slicer Dicer, SAP, EPSI cost accounting system and other computer programs.

This position works as a team member and positively accepts change throughout the Health System while establishing relationships at all facilities and be familiar with each institution's computer environment and payer contracts, as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or related field. Master's Degree in Business Administration, Health Administration or Information Management is preferred.
  • Experience developing and monitoring budgets for large operation >750 FTEs and $91mil +
  • Experience analyzing and developing reserve requirements for patient accounts receivable
  • A minimum of ten(10) years of hospital receivables/operations management experience within a large academic medical center or health system, with at least six (6) of those years in a management capacity
  • Prior work experience must include revenue cycle management projects and/or responsibilities, and a significant role in a redesign project and/or management experience working in a highly automated, centralized business office environment.
  • Experience in using team building and quality management concepts to positively influence the work environment.
  • Leadership role in industry organizations such as HFMA
  • CPA is a plus
