Job Description

PURPOSE OF POSITION

Under general supervision of Executive Director / Chief Executive Officer (CEO), equivalent or higher, participates in the formulation, development, implementation, coordination and evaluation of plans, policies, methods and procedures, directed towards the improvement and transition of Gotham Health. Resolves special administrative problems pertaining to policy and practice in program planning, operation, analysis, implementation and evaluation within the division.

Is responsible for supervising, coordinating and executing the management of multiple departmental projects or a large-scale and complex project focused on improvement or development of health care setting and/or system-wide initiatives in support of its strategic goals. Supports collaborative development with various business teams and drives process improvements for the successful management of the overall project lifecycle, supporting provision of all deliverables from inception to completion.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Conducts and participates in meetings, hearings and conferences as a representative of the CEO.
  2. Develops and maintains viable operational procedures within the department and optimal operational support for Corporation programs.
  3. Prepares reports, speeches and press releases within the context of departmental objectives.
  4. Consult with departmental leadership and other key stakeholders to develop implementation schedules and provides support to the development and implementation of various operational plans and technical / logistical tracking systems to meet operational needs.
  5. Ensures that scope of statements, estimates, and contract documents are prepared, in accordance with standards and NYC H+H / Gotham Health operating procedures.
  6. Study market dynamics: customer/patient feedback (Press Ganey scores / surveys / social media), clinician feedback, and research customer trends for new business lines.
  7. Identify important capital projects, joint ventures, and other strategic partnership opportunities.
  8. Ensure strategies are well communicated and translated into actionable and quantitative plans for entities and work units/functions.
  9. Collaborate with CEO and Board to ensure strategic plans and goals align with organizational priorities and monitor/measure performance.
  10. Identify and convey strategic risks to CEO, Board, and other senior leadership.
  11. Communicate / market strategy across departments and organization.
  12. Oversee the execution of business initiatives.
  13. Develop a partnership portfolio of internal departments, external NYC agencies, and outside approved vendors to achieve long-term innovative goals and best practices.
  14. Team with Chief Financial Officer to ensure funding and resources are available to execute initiatives.
  15. Implements directives of the Executive Director or designee, reviews and evaluates existing programs, makes recommendations for improvement, modification and provision of general administrative and support services.
  16. Audits existing programs and facility operations and applies approved criteria for evaluating programs and operational activities.


Minimum Qualifications
1. Graduation from an approved School of Medicine and completion of an approved residency and Board eligible; and,
2. N.Y. State license; and,
3. Five years of full-time paid experience in a responsible medical and clinical administrative and/or managerial capacity; or,
4. A Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Hospital Administration, Health Care Planning, Public Health, Administrative Medicine, Business Administration, Public Administration or approved related program; and,
5. Eight years of progressively responsible experience in health and medical services administration, of which at least four years must have been in a managerial or administrative capacity.
