We are currently hiring a full time Director of Dietary and Food Services for Fremont Hospital!

The Director of Dietary and Food Services is responsible for managing and coordinating all activities of the Dietary and Food Service Department. Responsibilities include but are not limited to providing nutritious and attractive meals for patients and facility employees, maintaining an organized and sanitary environment, monitoring supply inventories and purchasing of food and supplies as required, ensuring proper storage of food and supplies, logging and detailed documentation of required data, safety in operation and care of equipment, and managing an effective food service staff. The Director of Dietary and Food Services works within department budget for food and staffing resources. The successful candidate will monitor and work on ways to decrease wastes in all areas. The Director of Dietary and Food Services is responsible for developing and monitoring performance improvement plans of the department, monitoring and improving patient satisfaction scores as needed, and reporting out results in Quality Council. This role works closely with the Clinical Nutrition Manager to implement menus and dietetic policies and procedures that meet all regulatory and compliance needs. Performs other duties as assigned.

Fremont Hospital is a fully accredited, 148-bed private inpatient psychiatric hospital providing quality care for children through adults. The facility provides a full assortment of care which includes assessments, inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, partial-hospitalization, intensive outpatient psychiatric treatment as well as chemical dependency outpatient care.

Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in food and/or nutrition related field or equivalent experience.
Experience:
  • Experience in food service management preferably in a healthcare facility.
  • Experience in a management/supervisory role.
  • Thorough knowledge of Joint Commission/CMS, OSHA, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
Certifications:
  • Registered Dietician or Certified Dietary Manager (CDM)
  • You may be required to successfully complete Fremont Hospital's non-violent Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training course within 90 days of employment and prior to assisting with preventative intervention measures.
Computer/Software programs:
  • Type 35+ WPM
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to learn specialized food planning and patient care software (Blue Print, Bed Board)
