Master's degree in a mental hygiene discipline (including physician assistant, occupational therapy, physical therapy, social work, speech pathology and audiology, communication disorders, psychology, recreation therapy, rehabilitation counseling, education, nursing), hospital administration, community mental health, business or public administration or other administrative area specifically related to health care, behavioral or social science or a valid license to practice medicine in New York State or Canada.

Experience:
Six (6) years of administrative, consultative, or supervisory experience in a mental health program, two years of which must have been managerial experience, including one or more of the following:
1. One (1) year of satisfactory experience in a position as administrative head of a multi-disciplinary treatment team;
OR
2. One (1) year of satisfactory supervisory, professional, or administrative experience in the development, operation, and/or implementation of the mental health service delivery system for State facilities, counties, or local/private agencies in two (2) or more of the following areas: program development, management procedures, community organization, resource planning, funding, program proposals, advisory boards, consumer and community advocacy and intergovernmental relations.
Additionally, all candidates must be eligible to participate in Federal health care programs (e.g., Medicaid). Individuals excluded from participation in these programs will not be considered.
Duties Description The Director of Inpatient & Outpatient Treatment Services is an essential member of SLPC's Executive Leadership Team. Under the general direction of the Executive Director and in close collaboration Clinical Director and the Deputy Director Quality Management, the Director of Inpatient & Outpatient Treatment Services will design, develop, evaluate, and ensure effective operation of SLPC's adult inpatient and outpatient treatment programs.
The Director of Inpatient & Outpatient Treatment Services will:
• Participate in the development of SLPC's short and long term goals
• Establish policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective service delivery
• Oversee admissions and discharge process
• Monitor and oversee staffing, assignments, and work schedules to ensure quality patient care
• Ensure service delivery complies with OMH guidelines and regulatory agency standards
• Maintain working relationships with external organizations to maximize resources and implement program goals
• Supervise and coordinate activities of subordinate managers

Located in Ogdensburg, New York; SLPC is a comprehensive, community-based mental health facility providing inpatient and outpatient services to adults with mental illness and children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbances in six (6) counties of Upstate New York; St. Lawrence, Jefferson, Franklin, Essex, Lewis, and Clinton.
