Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated andragogical specialist to provide expert guidance and assistance to the College of Health Professions (CHP) faculty. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of andragogical principles, a keen ability to forecast trends in teaching and learning, and the capacity to translate these trends across various allied health fields. This role is crucial in enhancing teaching effectiveness, promoting innovative instructional strategies, and fostering a dynamic learning environment within (CHP).

Typical Duties
  • Collaborate closely with CHP faculty and chairs to assess and address their departmental and course andragogical needs and challenges.
  • Conduct regular workshops, training sessions, and one-on-one consultations to support faculty in integrating effective teaching methodologies.
  • Research and analyze current trends, emerging technologies, and andragogical innovations relevant to health sciences education.
  • Develop and implement strategies to translate andragogical trends and innovations into practical applications across diverse health sciences disciplines.
  • Evaluate and recommend instructional resources, technologies, and tools that enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
  • Manage the LMS for the College (i.e., facilitate subaccount management, support faculty in their use of the LMS, provide faculty with access to courses, etc.).
  • Provide ongoing support and mentorship to faculty members in adopting new instructional techniques and technologies.
  • Provide ongoing support to departments in curriculum mapping, outcome assessment, and the use of Taskstream.
  • Stay informed about accreditation standards, university requirements, educational regulations, and best practices in health sciences education.
  • Collaborate with educational technologists, curriculum developers, and other stakeholders to design and implement effective educational interventions.
  • Assist with the onboarding of new faculty by connecting them to CHP resources.
  • Oversee CHP-CE, the continuing education arm of the College.
  • Facilitate annual faculty committee elections.
  • Assist with new student orientations by providing materials and presenting on VCU technologies, Canvas, and online learning.
