The Director of Leisure Sales, is a transient/leisure travel sales person who has demonstrated through performance a thorough understanding and competence in sales, account management functions and the hotel industry. Responsibilities include selling guest rooms and Hyatt services to transient market customers through corporate accounts, travel agencies, individual travel and wholesale groups. Duties include managing current accounts, ensure proper solicitation of all transient markets, and includes a dynamic travel schedule to major cities within market.
Duties also include preparing and presenting effective proposals, presentations, maintaining well organized documentation and reports, utilization of Hyatt technology systems and coordination of customer service requirements with hotel operations staff as appropriate. The Director of Leisure Sales will also participate and may lead meetings, sales and has an active role in weekly strategy meetings.
Role Responsibilities
o Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals as designated by the Director of Sales & Marketing.
o Maintain hotel relationships with key accounts to increase customer satisfaction and account revenue.
o Manage relationships with key Luxury Consortia Travel Agents, Boutique Luxury Agencies, Individual and Suite clientele.
o Assist in the RFP process for Luxury Consortia and Boutique Agency accounts.
o Show initiative and resourcefulness in capturing individual and suite sales to increase market share, while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
o Work with all departments in preparation for VIP arrival and experience.
o Actively solicits new business through outside cold calling, entertaining and appointments.
o Maintain an active prospecting, new business development and outside sales call activity as well as a site experience schedule a cultivating one-on-one meeting opportunities.
o Conduct thorough site inspections of the hotels with clients, exhibiting key features and benefits of the property.
o Proactively engage clients off-property via office visits, industry events and client entertainment.
o Knowledgeable of all VIP guests and communicates to the team all needs of the guests.
Ø A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment
Ø Refined verbal and written communication skills
Ø A minimum of 10 years of hotel sales experience
Ø Established client relationships within the Leisure Sales market
Ø Must have experience in the Global Leisure Market, FIT and Luxury Agency segments
Ø Must be proficient in general computer knowledge.
Ø Must have selling, negotiating, business writing and presentation skills training
