We are currently seeking applicants for a Life Enrichment Director.
Life Enrichment touches all aspects of engagement with residents, from enriching group activity programs, events and outings to assisting individuals with special interests and self-directed activities.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
The director coordinates offerings through planning, organizing, developing and directing the overall program using standard and innovative methods that encourage well-being.
Prepare monthly activity calendar and review daily to assist each resident to participate in planned activities.
Know the Lifestyle and Leisure information for each resident. Initiate leisure activities for residents as a group and individually.
Encourage and assist residents to socialize and develop friendships with others.
Keep abreast of current regulations, as well as professional standards of practice, and make recommendations to the Executive Director.
Participate in community planning related to the interests of the community and the services and needs of the resident and family.
Direct the community's transportation program.
Maintain an excellent working relationship with other department supervisors and coordinate the life enrichment program to assure that daily activities can be performed without interruption.
Make daily rounds to assure that staff are performing required duties, and that appropriate life enrichment programs are rendered.
Assist in the recruitment, interviewing, and selection of Staff for the department.
Requirements:
Must possess, as a minimum, education of an Activity Director (complete Modular Education Program for Activity Professionals "MEPAP" curriculum) and/or an Associate's degree from an accredited college preferred with similar education/experience or qualified therapeutic recreation specialist.
Experience in a field of Social Services preferred.
Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing life enrichment activity services.
