Our Network Operations team works around the clock running United's global operation, safely, reliably and efficiently. From dispatching and routing our fleet to coordinating with maintenance line planning and crew scheduling, this team makes caring connections with our internal customers and ultimately, United's customers. From pushback to landing, the Network Operations team is the eyes and ears on the ground no matter where in the world your United flight takes you.



Key Responsibilities:

The Director of NOC Long Term Planning & Operations Support will be the visionary force behind the long-term evolution of our Network Operations Center (NOC). This role is responsible for developing and executing a strategic roadmap that extends five years and beyond, ensuring that the NOC is prepared to meet the future demands of a rapidly growing airline. This planning encompasses not only operational scalability but also the integration of new technologies and process optimizations that will shape the NOC of tomorrow. Additionally, the Director will oversee the support and enhancement of dispatch and load planning tools, ensuring these critical functions are fully aligned with both current operations and future directions.

  • Lead Long-Term Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for the NOC with a five-year and beyond focus, aligning with the company's growth trajectory and future industry trends.
  • Oversee Dispatch & Load Planning Support: Ensure continuous improvement and alignment of dispatch and load planning tools with both current operational needs and long-term strategic goals.
  • Operational Scalability Planning: Develop strategies to scale NOC operations in line with the company's growth trajectory and balancing immediate demands with future scalability
  • Facilitate Cross-Functional Integration: Integrate long-term strategic initiatives and short-term tactical plans across tools, analytics, and planning, ensuring cohesive NOC operations

Qualifications

What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 10 years of airline operations experience (NOC, SOC, or related)
  • Experienced leading cross-divisional technology projects impacting the frontline
  • Experience working with IT, CRE, Operations, and Finance required
  • Strategic planning skills required
  • Strong project oversight skills required
  • Excellent communication and executive presence
  • Ability to work with cross-divisional collaborators
  • Proven leadership track record
  • Incredible data and analytic skills
  • Models all Core4 principles
  • Project management skills required


What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Master's degree or equivalent experience
  • Proficient in multiple operational areas including Airport Operations, Network Operations and Flight operations required
  • Knowledge of technology trends and tools relevant to operations
