Director of Nursing / DON (SNF) (LTC)

We are looking for a charismatic individual to join our team as the new Director of Nursing (DON) at Prestige Care Center of Morrison in beautiful Morrison, Colorado. The primary focus of this job is to plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of the Nursing Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator and the Medical Director to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.

Direcor of Nursing Duties :

• Recruit, hire, train, coach, and evaluate departmental staff (management staff only)
• Makes rounds to verify clinical compliance including periodic spot checks of resident's condition
• Coordinate clinical services to promote standard clinical interventions of resident care
• Takes corrective action in response to quality of service issues
• Investigate any complaints and concerns as indicated
• Review and follow-up on documentation for clinical compliance
• Supervise all nursing activity within the department
• Ensure coaching and disciplinary actions are provided as indicated within the policies and procedures of the campus
• Evaluate performance/skills/job knowledge of nursing staff
• Other duties as assigned
• Collaborates with department managers for developing competencies required for meeting residents' needs. Assists with evaluating competencies, depending on the knowledge-based, technical, or behavioral nature of the competency.
• Schedules trainings with flexibility to ensure limited disruption of resident care, and ample opportunity for staff to attend. Posts notices of trainings in advance.
• Provide 24-hour accountability for the Nursing Department in directing and coordinating all activities of nursing services
• Maintains all training records, reports, instructional materials, and speaker qualifications related to each educational program.
• Provides opportunities for staff to obtain continuing education credits for maintaining certifications/licensure. Maintains all documentation related to continuing education.
• Maintains attendance records and individual training records in accordance with facility policy.

Director of Nursing Qualifications :

• Colorado RN license is required
• At least 1 year of DON experience
• 2 years of experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF)
