Rivers Bend Retirement Community provides a caring environment for each resident and their loved ones. We work with each resident to create a personalized care plan that takes into account the individual's abilities and needs. Rivers Bend is a 40-bed skilled nursing center offering short-term care, rehabilitative care, long-term care and assisted living. We are passionate about celebrating our team members and are looking for a Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team, while helping with our team member mentorship and celebration programs.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate's degree from an accredited school of nursing is necessary. Completion of Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Current RN license is required. Employee must be in good standing with the state. Possession of a current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers CPR certificate is required.
• Sufficient experience in order to perform daily tasks with an understanding of the duties involved. Must have a minimum of five (5) years general nursing experience, with at least two (2) years in long-term care and two (2) years' experience in either supervision, administration, consultation or involvement in the long-term care survey process.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

• Makes rounds to assess quality of resident care and staff compliance.
• Ensures all nursing units are staffed according to residents' acuity and needs.
• Recruits and interviews new licensed nursing employees; and counsels, disciplines or terminates nursing employees, as needed.
• Directs and monitors to determine adequate documentation is being done on a daily basis.
• Plans and cooperates with Administration on operations, budgets & special projects as requested.
• Develops policies and procedures that are in compliance with current regulatory requirements and professional standards of practice to achieve quality care to residents.
