Our expansive campus provides us with ample space to offer diverse programming for the boys and girls in our care.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Nursing oversees professional nursing care for residents of the treatment program and is liaison and coordinator of medical services. Practices ongoing client assessments, evaluations and updates of client care through the observation of physical and behavioral symptoms and communicate pertinent data to other service areas as needed. Participates in development and maintenance of budget for department. Communicates with responsible party for financial needs of referred medical care. In conjunction with Human Resources, oversee infection control records and data and (routine required employee health/medical requirements.) Provides the authority and accountability for the provision of nursing care and practices by establishing facility standards of care and ensures policies and procedures are followed based on these current practice standards. Accountability is maintained through delegating, coordinating, and providing supervision to nursing personnel. Specifically, ensures therapeutic techniques support the utilization of the nursing process that promotes safe, effective and cost efficient resident care.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees medication management by ensuring established guidelines are followed while implementing, evaluating and documenting physician orders.
- Exhibits ability to continuously assess residents and communicate with appropriate members of the treatment team changes in medical and/or psychological status.
- Demonstrates and participates in supervision of the documentation process within the medical record ensuring interventions, and/or subsequent treatments are recorded according to facility policy. Communicates findings/recommendations to appropriate service areas providing education/training as needed.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Licensure: Current license or permit to practice professional nursing in the state of TN.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a CCNE accredited nursing program; Master of Science in Nursing is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of behavioral health nursing clinical practices and management.
- Extensive knowledge of principles and practices relevant to nursing and patient care activities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of effective management and supervisory practices. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Three or more years of progressive nursing management experience in behavioral health setting
- Ability to plan, direct, and monitor others' activities with demonstrated leadership abilities that contribute to a positive work environment
