Golden Modesto Care Center in Modesto, California is seeking a Director of Staff Development (DSD) to plan, organize, develop, and direct all in-service educational programs throughout the facility in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and as may be directed by the administrator, to assure that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times.

Job Summary:
Golden Modesto Care Center in Modesto, California is seeking a Director of Staff Development (DSD) to plan, organize, develop, and direct all in-service educational programs throughout the facility in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and as may be directed by the administrator, to assure that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times.
Essential Position Duties:
- Plan, develop, direct, evaluate, and coordinate educational and on-the-job training programs. Incorporate commercially produced instruction material and training aids into existing in-service programs as deemed necessary.
- Develop, evaluate and control the quality of in-service educational programs in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Secure, develop and maintain records, reports, instructional manuals, reference materials, etc., pertinent to in-service educational programs.
- Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, class attendance, subject records, etc.
- Identify and address employee performance requiring corrective action to set clear standards for success.
- Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the administrator concerning in-service training programs.
- Work with the business office to make sure that all employees receive the correct benefits packages.
- Develop, direct and schedule orientation programs for newly hired personnel.
- Assist licensed nursing personnel (i.e., registered nurses (RNs), licensed vocational nurses (LVNs) and Nurse Aides) in obtaining CEUs to keep their license current in accordance with state law.
- Coordinate with department supervisors for the development and implementation of annual employee performance reviews.
- Communicate the in-service training calendar to supervisors and facility staff.
- Other duties as assigned/required.
Education, Licensure, & Experience Requirements:
- Must possess a Clear & Active LVN/LPN or RN license in the state of California.
- DSD Certified preferred.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in a post-acute/ skilled nursing facility, LTC or hospital.
- Must have experience in supervision and principles, practice of teaching, etc.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
