About the United Football League

The United Football League (UFL) is the premier spring football platform, formed by the merging of the XFL and USFL in 2024 under the combined ownership of RedBird Capital Partners, FOX, Dany Garcia and Dwayne Johnson. The UFL has eight teams in Arlington (TX), Birmingham (AL), Detroit (MI), Houston (TX), San Antonio (TX), Memphis (TN), St. Louis (MO), and Washington D.C.

About the Position

The Director of Ticket Sales and Experience aims to drive the ticket sales team to achieve the team's overall ticket sales goal on an annual basis. The Director of Ticket Sales and Experience reports to the VP, Team Business & Event Operations, and supports, motivates and manages the ticket sales staff, while executing the team's sales plan and customer service execution, through the sales of Seasons, Groups and Premium Seating Ticket packages. The position will also be responsible for achieving their own individual sales goals and attaining a high level of customer service.

What you will do
  • Lead the ticket sales team to its individual and overall sales goals in Seasons, Groups and Premium ticket packages for the season
  • Recruit, hire and train sales and service teams
  • Develop and maintain a professional and competitive sales team culture, and leading effective sales team meetings and training sessions.
  • Track and report daily activity in outbound and inbound contacts, meetings and sales activity.
  • Regularly produce accurate reporting on prospecting activity, sales performance, outside appointment and event recaps using CRM system.
  • Provide consistent and reliable feedback on sales activity and effectiveness making recommendations to be more effective, efficient and successful
  • Point of contact for the team's ticket business at the league level.
  • Support ticket sales staff by working collaboratively with marketing and sales leadership to provide leads, help solve impediments and managing an organized sales structure.
  • Sell and service their own business in Seasons, Groups and Premium ticket packages, leading the group by effective execution of their own meetings and sales.
  • Meet personal revenue goals by developing new and growing existing relationships.
  • Participate and lead activities at team and partner events (i.e. Chamber Events, professional associations, corporate events, etc.) as assigned to support ticket sales efforts and promotional initiatives with purpose of selling, networking, gathering leads and meeting new prospects.
  • Effectively handle incoming sales calls from prospective clients for all ticket sales products.
  • Effectively follow up with customers and prospective customers to build relationships to help drive business.
  • Meet and exceed assigned sales goals for all ticket products.
  • Meet and exceed excellent customer service expectations managing a client base between of 200 - 400 accounts over the course of the sales cycle from onboarding through renewal process.
  • Manage full time sales staff efforts to effectively execute game day activations to provide fans with access and experiences (i.e. access to the field, support player autograph sessions, youth clinics, mini games, etc.
  • Actively recruit and manage part time gameday staff to assist in fan engagement and customer acquisition efforts.
  • Represent the UFL, the local team and other partners professionally, with integrity, credibility and good judgment.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum of 4-years sales experience required
  • Minimum of 2-years managerial experience required
  • Premium or ticket sales experience in the sports and entertainment industry required
  • Minor League or start-up sports and entertainment experience preferred
  • Experience with servicing customers required
  • Experience with CRM system required, Salesforce preferred
  • Experience with a ticketing system - Ticketmaster/Archtics required
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite products required

Additional Details
  • Please note, the location of this role must be within the Houston, TX area
  • The role is hybrid, works in a remote office and/or an office environment and will be expected to attend all games and events
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Minimal Travel (< 20% travel): Mostly to other UFL markets
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, gamedays, nights and holidays required
  • Must be able to lift 10 pounds at times
