Overview: Quinnipiac University's Director of Women's Basketball Program Development & Operations will assist in the off-court elements of program development by coordinating with coaches, marketing staff, sports information and units within the women's basketball program to elevate the student-athlete experience. In this role, you will direct the operations of the practice squad, team logistics and the structure of the women's basketball program's 12 month calendar.   • Adheres to the highest standards of academic integrity and works in compliance with all University, MAAC and NCAA rules and regulations
  • Attends all women's basketball related events (games, practices, etc).
  • Will assist coaching staff in creating and implementing individual development plans to ensure student-athletes' needs are addressed and met as they relate to academics, personal goals, and program achievement for the women's basketball team
  • Assists in the coordination of all team travel including transportation, hotels, meals, and itineraries on the road
  • Works with the head coach to create and implement a 12-month calendar for team activities
  • Coordinates and supervises the practice squad during the teams 20 hour practice blocks
  • Produces, collects and edits program video; analyzes Quinnipiac and opponent film and collaborates with the coaches in preparation of competition strategy
  • Directs "on-campus" contact during the month of July, with emphasis on arrival of incoming freshmen attending summer school - Session 2
  • Under the direction of the coaching staff assists in all areas of recruiting and manages recruiting visits as allowed by the NCAA according to Bylaw 11.7.2
  • Coordinates with coaches and Development and Alumni Affairs staff to help advance institutional fundraising efforts
  • Assists with special projects and tasks as requested by coaching staff
  • Coordinates and assists in community development projects involving the women's basketball team
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required
Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience
  • Prior basketball knowledge and/or experience on a college or professional level preferred
  • Experience with video editing is preferred
  • A strong work ethic
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to interact professionally within the department, the campus, and the national basketball community
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to travel and work nights, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and a commitment to diversity and inclusion
