District Bus Driver

JOB TITLE: SCHOOL BUS DRIVER

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Valid Driver's License
2. State Bus Driver's License
3. Such additional health, age, or other requirements the Leeds City Schools Board of Education may deem appropriate.

REPORTS TO: Principal or Principal's Designee

JOB GOAL: To provide safe, efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest advantage from the district's program.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Obeys all traffic laws.
2. Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
3. Maintains discipline when students are on the bus.
4. Reports undisciplined students to the proper authority.
5. Keeps assigned bus clean.
6. Keeps assigned schedule.
7. Checks bus for mechanical defects before each operation.
8. Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or tardiness.
9. Discharges students only at authorized stops.
10. Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips.
11. Transports only authorized students.
12. Reports all accidents and completes required reports.
13. Enforces regulations against smoking and eating on the bus.
14. Completes required training programs satisfactorily.
15. Maintains good public relations, especially with patrons on route.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: As determined by the Leeds City Schools Board of Education (183 days)

EVALUATION: Performance of the job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's Policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
