SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsible for overall management of the Division, to include direct oversight of the financial and human resources of the Division, as well as ensuring that the highest quality of care continues to be delivered to patients. The Chief, working closely with the Chair, will play an instrumental role in strategic planning and implementation for the Division and have accountability for the Division's clinical care delivery, its economic performance, and its growth. The Chief will be tasked to promote and foster research, both basic science and clinical research, lead the growth in research funding and also oversee the continuing education of the Division's physicians and overall educational mission. He/she will also serve as an important spokesperson for the Division at the local, regional and national level.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
  • MD, DO, or equivalent, or MD/PhD from an accredited institution required.
  • ACGME accredited residency training in area of specialty required.
  • Board-certified in area of specialty required.
  • Possess qualifications for faculty appointment required.
  • Eligibility for permanent, unrestricted licensure in Pennsylvania required.
  • Previous administrative and management/leadership experience required.
