Under the general supervision of the Education Administrator I of the Career Technical Education (CTE) Leadership Office, the Education Programs Consultant (EPC) will perform consultative, developmental, and administrative tasks that support the implementation and administration of the programs and projects with which the office is charged. These programs include the CTE Facilities Grant; CTE Incentive Grant (CTEIG); Career Technical Student Organization (CTSO) leadership; Direct Support Professional Training Program; industry sector leadership; state and federal CTE leadership projects, and Work-based Learning programs, including Work Experience Education Program, and Work Permits for minors.
Carry out the primary duty of an EPC with a specialization in Health Science Education, as an Industry Sector Lead. The EPC will provide leadership for the assigned CTE Health Science and Medical Technology, and Public Services industry sectors, and CTEIG.
The EPC will support partnerships among kindergarten through grade twelve local educational agencies, community colleges, business, industry, and labor to provide statewide leadership for the specific industry sector assigned. The EPC will have the knowledge and skills required by the healthcare industry and public services industry, help local agencies design high-quality CTE instructional programs to address those needs, review the programs and curricula offered, and coordinate pathways to postsecondary institutions.
The EPC will serve as the Cal-HOSA State Advisor for, Cal-HOSA-Future Health Professionals, one of the six CTSOs. As State Advisor, the EPC will provide programmatic and fiscal oversight to Cal-HOSA-Future Health Professionals. Additionally as State Advisor, will provide statewide leadership to ensure that Cal-HOSA is operating and conducting itself in a manner that is conducive with serving students in the associated CTE programs and that they are meeting the expectations of the California Department of Education.

*A Training and Development shall be considered for this position for current state employees who have reached a permanent status in their current classification AND meet the education requirements for this classification.

TELEWORK OPTION

Hybrid: This position is headquartered in Sacramento and may be eligible for a hybrid telework schedule for eligible applicants residing in California. A hybrid telework schedule includes working remotely and physically reporting to the office.
