Akkodis is seeking an Electrical Engineer (Automotive Electrical Control Unit Circuit Design) that will work on the electronic design of automotive body control/zone control circuit boards. The ideal candidate should possess a strong technical background in electronics, with expertise in power delivery part selection, MOSFETs, motor controllers, power supply design, high side drivers, MCU interfaces. This position is open to candidate who are in the San Francisco Bay Area and/or willing to relocate as this role requires associates to work onsite in a hybrid capacity .

Pay/Salary: $85 - $90 (W2)

Responsibilities :
  1. Implement electronic designs for automotive body control, zonal control circuit boards , ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, thermal engineers.
  3. Perform part selection, selecting appropriate components based on performance requirements, budget constraints, and market availability.
  4. Design and develop motor controllers, MOSFET drivers, high side drivers, and other power electronics to meet stringent automotive standards.
  5. Create detailed schematics in OrCAD tool for various electronic systems. Be able to drive layout for best thermal and low EMI in Allegro , capturing constraints prior to start of layout. Provide a starting component placement guidance .
  6. Conduct SPICE and PI simulations and tests on prototype circuits, optimizing design parameters for improved performance and reliability.
  7. Bring-up electronics in the lab, conduct validation tests , capture reworks and updates as needed in detail.
  8. Assist in the creation of documentation , including design specifications, user manuals, and test reports, to support product development and quality assurance processes.


Qualifications :
  1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  2. Minimum 5 years of experience in electronic design for automotive applications or related industries.
  3. Strong technical knowledge of power electronics, including MOSFETs, motor controllers, high side drivers, and power supply design.
  4. Having shipped a high-volume product into production is highly desired.
  5. Prior experience in troubleshooting EMI issues and finding solutions.
  6. Hands on experience with lab equipment for power electronics.
  7. Proficient in using various design tools such as OrCAD/Allegro, simulation tools. PI experience is a plus.
  8. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  9. Strong communication skills with the capability to convey technical concepts.
  10. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, maintaining high quality standards.
