Your Opportunity

This assignment will be full time based in Midland, TX.

The role of Instrumentation & Electrical Engineer is to work with our client on diverse assets across a large geographic area including Texas and New Mexico. The assets are a mixture of typical oil production operations that include several conventional gas operations and unconventional production. The work on this job will primarily be focus on Midland and Delaware basin unconventional support for Electrical medium and low voltage distribution lines. This position requires an experienced candidate with proven technical, data management skills, and responsible for ensuring detail Engineering and construction work packages for Electrical medium and low voltage distribution lines are delivered on time to meet the client's construction schedule.

The candidate is expected to handle a diverse workload and multiple tasks, and to effectively interact with various internal and external contacts. Must work in tandem to support the general Facilities Engineer (FE)Work on smaller projects, and/or as a team member of larger projects, under the guidance of a Senior Electrical or Control Systems Engineer. The Engineer should be able to evaluate, select, specify, and engineer certain control systems and electrical equipment or products for a project. A Instrumentation & Electrical Engineer will perform a variety of tasks which may include calculations, design, and field work.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Must work in tandem to support the general Facilities Engineer (FE) with Medium and Low voltage Electrical (I&E) project design, construction, commissioning, and startup activities in client operational areas.
  • Responsible for insuring well hook-up and Medium and low voltage electrical system design, installation, start up, and commissioning are conducted in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Support PM/Engineers on new facility design and construction activities, including instrumentation, control, communications for well sites, and medium and Low voltage electrical system designs, project cost and schedule management, facility construction, Factory and Site Acceptance Testing, I&E system commissioning and troubleshooting, facility startup, and project turnover activities to Operations.
  • Works with the FE design teams to deliver seamless project construction work packages.
  • Serve as the Electrical FE point contact for FE work within an assigned MCBU area.
  • Developing Power electrical discipline deliverables (e.g. control philosophies & diagrams, one-lines, area classifications drawings, load and short circuit analysis)
  • Delivery of I&E engineering construction work package Ensuring all vendor supplied equipment packages meet the applicable equipment, control, and electrical specifications
  • Participating and contributing in safety reviews (HazOps, HazAn, LOPA, etc.), as applicable
  • Managing multiple project schedules and costs
  • Planning timely material deliveries.
  • Experience engaging with other employees on database systems and engaging external customers
  • Travel to various project locations will be required,

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Experience with client and industry I&E standard codes, design practices, and engineering standards/specifications in developing Onshore I&E production facilities and field infrastructure. Ability to manage multiple project schedules, manage costs and provide timely material delivery in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Proven knowledge in Electrical Power Distribution Systems design, ETAP modeling, including planning operations, commissioning, start-up and maintenance of medium and low voltage systems
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, in a diverse, multidiscipline team environment.
  • Demonstrated strong teamwork skills and the ability to work with multi-discipline peers, managers, engineers, and planners. Interacts positively with people in other work groups.
  • Desired is ability to be self-directed or showing initiative.
  • Strong Interpersonal, analytical and communication skills
  • Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Functions as a technical specialist with minimal supervision
  • Effectively communicates both verbally and in writing
  • Must have good driving record and valid Driver's License.
  • Prior to employment with Stantec, this position will require the successful passing of a drug screen.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 5 years' experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience of medium voltage distribution Lines
  • Experience in interpreting client request and apply design standards to work product

Field and office environment, working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Salary Range(s):
  • $93,400 - $135,400 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CA (SF Area includes SF, SJS & WLC)

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
