Responsibilities

Position Summary :

The Laboratory for Laser Energetics (LLE) of the University of Rochester is a unique national resource for research and education in science and technology focusing on using lasers to initiate fusion and high energy density physics.

The LLE Electronics and Controls Engineering group is seeking an experienced electronic design engineer. The successful candidate should have a BSEE/BSEET and minimum 3 years of experience or equivalent training and experience.

Requirements include the ability to demonstrate a theoretical and hands-on knowledge of the following:

• Familiarity with analog and digital circuit design, development, and troubleshooting
• CAD schematic capture
• Electrical measurement techniques
• Circuit simulation with SPICE or equivalent

Desired skills or experience includes:

• Cabling and harness documentation and fabrication
• Mechanical and electrical chassis design and documentation
• Embedded programming
• Experience with FPGA or CPLD based designs
• Curiosity and a desire to learn new concepts, skills, and techniques

Pay Range

Pay Range: $68,765 - $103,147 Annually

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
