Description

The University of Chicago’s Department of Medicine, Section of Emergency Medicine, seeks full-time faculty members at any rank. Clinical responsibilities include evaluating and treating patients who present to both the newly built Emergency Department at Crown Point Hospital, IN and at our main campus in Chicago, IL. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.

Appointees will join an academic faculty responsible for the education of Pritzker School of Medicine students and 54 residents in our Emergency Medicine Residency Program (established in 1972 and one of the oldest programs in the country), and off-service rotating residents. Section faculty members are active in bench, clinical, and translational research, medical education, simulation, EM ultrasound, Administration, Global Emergency Medicine, EMS and air-medical transport. Leadership opportunities may be available.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Indiana and Illinois, and 3) be BC/BE in Emergency Medicine.
