The U.S. Consumer Services and Enterprise Digital & Data Technology Team brings together foundational strategic technology capabilities in digital experience engineering (Mobile and Web), AI/ML, marketing technology, enterprise communications, travel and lifestyle, and automation, grounded in our data technology model that prioritizes data governance. It employs a ground-breaking focus with development responsibilities for customer-facing capabilities that deepen and expand digital engagement, as well as core technical capabilities that cut across business lines and customer segments.

The MarTech and Communications Technology team, part of the U.S. Consumer Services and Enterprise Digital & Data Technology Team at American Express, brings together foundational strategic technology capabilities in digital and omni-channel communications and storage experience engineering, marketing technology, and global brand management and advertising technology for the company. It employs a ground-breaking focus with development responsibilities for customer-facing capabilities that deepen and expand digital engagement, as well as core technical capabilities that cut across business lines and customer segments.

We're looking for a highly skilled and motivated Engineer with a history to contribute to design, development, troubleshooting, debugging, evaluating, modifying, deploying, and documenting software and systems that meet the needs of customer-facing applications, business applications, and/or internal end user applications to help us build a global platform that will form a backbone of American Express's Marketing ecosystem.

How will you make an impact in this role?

  • Software development and coding assignments.
  • Function as member of an agile team by contributing to software builds through consistent development practices (tools, common components, and documentation).
  • Demonstrate increased self-reliance to achieve team goals.
  • Participate in code reviews and automated testing.
  • Debug basic software components and identify code defects for remediation.
  • Enable the deployment, support, and monitoring of software across test, integration, and production environments.
  • Automated deployments in test or production environments.


Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • Preferably a BS or MS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other technical discipline.
  • 3-5 years of relevant IT work experience.
  • These responsibilities require a solid understanding and hands on experience of one or more of the following: Adobe Experience Manage Assets, Sites, Workfront/AJO/ web development skills and a good grasp of digital marketing principles.
  • Assets and Sites
    • Building and deploying new websites and web applications using AEM Sites. This includes developing templates, components, and services according to the business requirements.
    • Hands on experience with implementing OSGI services and Sling APIs.
    • Customizing AEM features and integrating with other systems such as CRM, e-commerce, analytics, and marketing automation tools to create a seamless digital experience.
    • Ensuring the AEM Sites always performs optimally, this involves tuning AEM instances, optimizing the website's performance, and managing caching strategies.
    • Implementing security practices within AEM Sites, including managing user permissions, and protecting against security threats.
  • Workfront
    • Setting up and configuring Adobe Workfront to meet the specific needs of the organization. This includes creating custom forms, workflows, templates, and fields to streamline operations and match business processes.
    • Utilizing Adobe Workfront for project management tasks such as scheduling, resource allocation, and tracking project progress. The engineer may also be involved in managing some projects directly, using the platform to ensure timely delivery and reporting.
    • Technical skills such as understanding APIs and coding for custom integrations.
  • AJO
    • Implementing, customizing, and managing Adobe Journey Optimizer, which is Adobe's platform designed to orchestrate and deliver personalized customer experiences across various channels.
    • Setting up and configuring Adobe Journey Optimizer to align with the specific marketing strategies and goals of an organization. This includes integrating it with other Adobe Experience Cloud solutions and third-party systems.
    • Designing and implementing customer journey workflows that include triggers, decision points, and actions across multiple channels. This also involves testing and optimizing these journeys based on performance data.
    • Creating and managing audience segments to target specific user groups with personalized content and messages. This includes leveraging data from various sources to refine targeting strategies.
  • Ability to perform Root Cause Analysis and determine short term and long-term fixes extremely fast.
  • Good understanding of Change Management, Problem Management, and Incident Management processes a plus.
  • Willingness to learn new Technologies and exploit them to their optimal potential.
  • Able to understand and use complex data structures and associated components.
  • Designs, codes, tests, maintains, and documents applications.
  • Hands on with GIT.


Qualifications

Salary Range: $85,000.00 to $150,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
