As an Engineering Geologist you will have the opportunity to:
- Plan and manage a workload consisting of multiple assignments on projects with sometimes conflicting deadlines to ensure all assignments are completed on time and within budget
- Prepare estimates for oversight costs for each assigned project and follow-up with the Responsible Parties to ensure payment of invoices of billed activities
- Routinely update and maintain project information on existing sites in DTSC's EnviroStor database, including uploading major milestone documents to EnviroStor on a timely basis Maintain site files and databases for internal and external use
- Communicate internally and externally the status of assignments, recommendations, or issues and prepares clear written documents free of errors in grammar or punctuation Conduct assignments in a team environment by providing information and coordinating project work with other team members including participating in team-based decision making, respectfully resolving disputes and maintaining an environment of trust
Desirable Qualifications We Look For:
- Project Management/Leadership Experience
- Technical communication skills, verbally and written. Experience with public speaking desired
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to travel throughout California, including occasional overnight travel, for training and/or field inspections
- Competent in basic office applications (e.g, Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, PDF Application and Tools)
- Fundamental knowledge in soil science, geochemistry/chemistry, health & safety, biology, environmental sciences, and/or water quality
