Job description

It is viewed as a team effort to bring new products to the marketplace and this activity is a crucial element from the leadership perspective. The responsibilities of this position primarily are focused on organizing and leading the engineering personnel in project efforts for conceptualizing, designing, developing, testing and supporting AVOX products. Project leadership of advanced engineering projects is also a major responsibility. Providing technical responses to customer inquiries is done as a part of their business development role in conjunction with sales management. Coordination of research and development projects is also a part of this position's activities.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1) Direct engineering disciplines and project activities.
2) Participate in regular engineering management activities.
3) Develop and support the product strategy for the product line and coordinate this with the appropriate business interface personnel.
4) Prepare project justifications including planning, coordination and management.
5) Provide resource allocation and management through budgeting activities.
6) Initiate requisitions for material, equipment, or production engineering.
7) Assist in the transition of new products into production.
8) Work with the engineering services organization to determine services staffing levels.
9) Support the engineering services organization in the execution of qualification and certification programs.
10) Interface with the customer to provide all AVOX technical information as required by the customer, and attend customer meetings as needed.
11) Support the Certification/Compliance Director, in meeting the AVOX compliance and certification strategy.

Required - BS Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering; MS in Engineering
Preferred - MBA optional

Experience -
Required - 10 yrs minimum engineering experience in an aerospace environment

Special Knowledge/Skills -
 Project Management skills, training and experience
 Working knowledge of manufacturing MRP systems
 Literacy on Microsoft suite of office software

$110,000 - $130,000 dependent upon experience
