Engineering Technician

Description:

We are looking for an engineer to help with the following tasks:

Designing and installing new equipment in the lab: Hood manifolds, reactors, rotavapors, and other tools and equipment

Complete P&IDs for systems in the labs

Coordinate safety review/hazard assessment of the designed system and make modifications as needed to ensure all safety standards are met

Build approved system

Test system

Upgrade distillation and reactor system as needed

Learn to fix and repair laboratory equipment in the lab: GC, GC-MS, glovebox, hood system, ovens, distillation systems, test equipment, flammable cabinets, replacing and checking relieve devices

Lead and complete hazard assessments (HARIET) and system revalidations with manager support.

Updating work instructions

Operate lab equipment as needed: Distillation, Rotavapor, Gas cabinets

Support safety systems statistics compilation and correcting action items as needed: safety observations, implementing near-miss corrective actions, assist PI in their day-to-day tasks.
