Job Description:

The Enrollment Services Specialist promotes a customer service-oriented atmosphere by addressing current and prospective students' needs (via email, phone, chat, or in-person) in an effective and timely manner.

The Enrollment Services specialist serves as a resource during the new student process by assessing student progress and connecting students to the appropriate next steps or resources, such as new student coaches, orientation, advising, and financial aid.

The Enrollment Services Specialist will collect, review, and evaluate domicile appeal documentation, making a sound determination of tuition status by interpreting Virginia state law and in accordance with SCHEV guidelines.

The Enrollment Services Specialist requires use of SIS to facilitate enrollment services functions, including but not limited to, resolving admissions holds, change of data, program plan changes, enrollment requests, and residency updates.

The Enrollment Services Specialist works in collaboration with Student Services departments collegewide to support shared initiatives. Performs other duties as assigned and serves as backup evening coverage.

Compensation:
Wage positions: The hourly pay rate for this starts at $15.64, however, actual starting rate will commensurate with competencies and/or experience. The position is part time and as such cannot exceed 29 hours per week and is not eligible for health or leave benefits. However, the position may offer educational benefits through our professional development and educational assistance policies.

Telework
According to DHRM policy 1.61 Teleworking , effective July 5, 2022, Virginia state employees will return to the workplace. Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to convey information to others in a professional and courteous manner with a high emphasis on customer service, as well as in a manner that is clearly understood
• Ability to prioritize and coordinate workflow in such a way as to ensure the timely completion of multiple projects and responsibilities, while flexibly navigating frequent interruptions
• Ability to be decisive in a fast-paced workflow
• Ability to assess and interpret the situational needs of the student, staff, and/or faculty member in order to best determine the appropriate course of action
• Exercise integrity and confidentiality when working with student records and information
• Student-centered focus and experience working with a diverse population
• Knowledge of office practices, techniques, and technology
Preferred Qualifications:

• Higher Education experience, preferably with a focus in Admissions, Advising, Financial Aid or Records preferred
• Proven subject matter knowledge, which may be evidenced by training, experience, and/or credentials preferred
• Experience in a dynamic workplace that yields high-productivity and engagement preferred
